[RESOLVED] Fire Damaged Fiber Currently Reducing Network Capacity

Resolved 09/17/2024: Crews completed repairs to the damaged fiber late last evening.  Full capacity has now been restored.

UPDATE: 09/16/2024 2:30 p.m. – Crews are still working on repairs with a scheduled goal of completed restoration sometime this evening. WVNET continues to monitor the situation, but customer impact has been minimal.

WVNET currently is operating at half capacity in the Southern part of the state due to fire damaged fiber. Service providers are currently working on repairs, but have not yet provided a repair time estimate. Customers may experience intermittent connectivity issues until this issue has been resolved.
